Central Utility Services is recruiting a Full-Time Hydrovac Operator. This position reports to our facility yard - Malahat, BC. In this position you will operate and drive a Hydrovac truck to assigned job sites to excavate, load, dig, break rocks or debris, dirt, or other materials to locate underground utilities, potholing, trenching, etc. The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.
Qualifications required:
Experience in a labour-intensive position and be willing and able to work outside in all types of weather conditions year round.
Two years of experience operating a vac truck is preferred.
· Communicate effectively, professionally and demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all interactions.
· Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment. Mechanical inclination is an asset.
· Use technology (iPad) for field ticketing and time. Properly document all customer paperwork as required.
· Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related industrial experience is required.
· Must have a minimum Class 1 or 3 with airbrake endorsement and able to operate a standard transmission along with an acceptable driving record.
· Ability to work independently with other team's in a safety focused environment.
