Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the service department team, including technicians and service advisors, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality repairs
- Manage customer interactions from initial greeting through service completion, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction
- Oversee automotive repair processes, ensuring all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Drive sales by upselling additional services and maintenance options that benefit the customer while increasing revenue
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain detailed financial records
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, customer retention, and overall department performance
- Maintain a thorough understanding of dealership policies, automotive technology updates, and industry best practices
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive sales, repairs, and customer service principles
- Extensive mechanic experience with solid mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build lasting relationships
- Ability to upsell services tactfully while prioritizing customer needs and safety
- Proficiency in cash handling, payment processing, and financial record keeping
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts inventory management, and dealership operations
Requirements:
- 5 + Years Service Manager experience from a domestic dealership (Ford, GM, Chrysler).
- Valid drivers license
