In addition to manufacturing premium coffee products, Cordoba Coffee supplies coffee products to major businesses such as Fortinos and Loblaws, as well as numerous independent cafés and food service establishments.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Service Technician to work full-time with our subcontractors at our company headquarters to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial coffee equipment and automated production systems. This not merely appliance servicing, but deals heavily with electrical skill set we are looking for in all candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Installation, Service & Repair
- Install, service, maintain, and repair commercial coffee and espresso equipment, including:
- Traditional espresso machines
- Super-automatic espresso machines
- Commercial coffee brewers
- Industrial coffee grinders
- Coffee roasting equipment
- Automated packaging and production systems
- Perform on-site and in-house service calls.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and scheduled inspections.
- Calibrate grinders and brewing equipment to ensure optimal beverage quality and consistency.
Electronics & Diagnostics
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot PCB assemblies, control boards, sensors, relays, motors, power supplies, and communication systems.
- Perform computerized diagnostics, software configuration, machine resets, and parameter adjustments.
- Analyze equipment faults using testing instruments and diagnostic software.
- Test, evaluate, and commission new equipment and technologies.
- Interpret technical documentation—including electrical schematics, fluid power diagrams, and exploded views—to guide assembly, troubleshooting, and repair processes.
Automation & Production Equipment
- Support automated production lines and industrial processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, electrical controls, and automated machinery.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
Documentation & Software Management
- Maintain detailed service records, repair reports, and maintenance logs.
- Document customer equipment history, usage data, service activities, and technical findings using company software.
- Track parts consumption and equipment performance metrics.
Inventory & Technical Support
- Manage technical inventory, spare parts, and service stock levels.
- Coordinate ordering and replenishment of critical components.
- Provide technical support and training to customers and internal staff.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and electrical safety standards.
- Adhere to manufacturer service guidelines and company quality standards.
- Ensure all repairs and installations comply with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Absolutely must have at least 2 years of experience with coffee/espresso machines and demonstrate ability to install, service, maintain, diagnose/troubleshoot, and repair the machines.
- Diploma or certification in Electronics or related fields such as Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is an asset, but not required.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, fluid power diagrams, and exploded-view drawings.
- Knowledge of PCB diagnostics and electronic component testing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to customer locations when required.
- All candidates must be able to speak, read, and write in English
Preferred Assets
- Experience servicing commercial coffee, espresso, or food-processing equipment.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and service management software.
- Understanding of networking and machine communication protocols.
- Experience with CAD software and 3D printing technologies.
