The Data, Insights & Analytics (DI&A) team at Loblaw is hiring a Technical Project Manager to become a key member of the team charged with delivering a major change to the way Loblaw manages data. Reporting to the Senior Director, Transformation Office, the role will be a critical one amongst a small multinational team of professionals who will build out and operationalize data across our organization.

The role will require top-flight project management know-how, as well as excellent stakeholder management skills. Expertise in agile delivery is a must, and flexibility towards hybrid project will secure your success. As a key player in the company’s data strategy progress, you successfully navigate interdependency with other cross-functional areas such as Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Sciences & Analytics and Privacy & Consent management.
What You'll Do:
Lead the delivery of a group of highly technical projects per Loblaw PMO standards and best practices.
Negotiate with business partners regarding projects plans for applications / technology products including planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, cost/benefit analysis and milestone establishment.
Provide direction and leadership to project teams & team members (i.e. vendors, architecture, engineering, QA, business and system analysts, technical specialists, other project leaders).
Create and maintain reporting and metrics around the projects you manage
What You'll Bring:
A team player and self-starter with e xperience managing dynamic, complex projects with a high attention to detail
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
A minimum 5+ years of Project Management
Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Business or equivalent
Strong knowledge of project management methodology and best practices (e.g. PMI, Agile/Scrum/Kanban) with a solid understanding of the Project Life Cycle. Formal project management training (PMI/PMP, Agile certification) is required
Proficiency using Project Management Tools including JIRA, Confluence and MS Office products (Excel, Work, PowerPoint).
Experience with use of formalized methodology and project tracking tools, forecasting, planning, financial controls, budgeting, risk management, issue management and organizational change management techniques
Experience in retail is a strong asset, specifically merchandising and pricing
Current knowledge and experience with regards to data analytics tools, familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) framework would be an asset
You need well-developed business acumen along with being technically savvy
Creative, original thinking and a can-do, problem-solving mindset approaching challenges with energy and passion – resilience and persistence is a must!
Track record of building strong partnerships with internal and external partners and team members in a matrix environment
Ability to manage ambiguity, uncertainty and changing priorities
Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written), including accuracy, confidence and enthusiasm
Experience communicating with non-IT professionals and assessing needs / facilitating alternative solution definition
Conflict management – developed interpersonal skills to hone conflict into best outcomes, especially in times of stress or uncertainty
This role requires working in the office and remote / virtually using MS Teams with equal effectiveness
