Purpose
Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the consistent, timely and accurate completion of monthly financial results for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the company’s month-end close tasks which include preparing monthly working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts and posting adjusting entries
- Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statement packages for senior management and external stakeholders
- Prepare and file applicable regulatory returns as needed (GST/HST, WCB, Royalties, etc.)
- Maintain customer and supplier databases, and related company information.
- Assist with the company’s year-end financial statement review and coordinate with external auditors as needed
- Support Finance Department projects
Skills
- CPA designation required
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting
- University degree in finance or accounting
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
- Process-oriented with a logical mindset, using reasoning to consistently deliver supportable conclusions
- Experience with full-cycle accounting processes (purchasing, billing) is required
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to analyze and interpret high volumes of financial data
- Possess the ability to work alongside all levels in Finance, Operations and external service providers
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Superior planning and organization skills to independently prioritize work within agreed timelines
- Proven ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment, deal with ambiguity and effect change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and SharePoint
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar software is an asset
- Experience with the mining or manufacturing industry would all be considered assets

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
