We're a small structural engineering firm with a reputation for complex, high-quality work. Boutique by choice, not default. We're principal-led, which means the people running the projects are the same people who own the firm — and you'll be working directly with them from day one.
What the job actually is
You'll build and maintain the structural BIM models behind our institutional, commercial, and heritage projects — steel, concrete, timber, masonry. That means detailed 3D models, construction documentation, and drafting that architects and contractors can actually build from. You'll run clash detection before problems hit site, not after. You'll coordinate directly with our engineers and with architects' teams, and you'll support construction administration when models need to answer real field questions.
We don't do siloed production work disconnected from the engineering. If you want to push geometry around without understanding why it's detailed that way, we're probably not your firm. If you want to know the structure well enough to catch a coordination issue before anyone asks you to, we are.
What we need
- Proven experience with Revit; familiarity with Rhino or similar tools is a plus
- Strong drafting fundamentals — 2D and 3D, schematics, construction documentation
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings accurately and translate them into a coordinated model
- Working knowledge of construction processes and how building systems fit together
- Experience running clash detection and model coordination across disciplines
- Excellent attention to detail and organized model/file management
- Strong communication skills — you'll be in coordination conversations with architects and engineers, not just taking direction from them
What will make you stand out
Experience with rendering and visualization skills for client-facing presentations. The instinct to flag a clash or a discrepancy before it becomes a site problem. A personality that can hold its own in a room.
