Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Health Care Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your energetic approach will ensure residents receive personalized care that promotes their well-being, comfort, and independence. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of prescribed treatments
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive and engaging environment
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe, hygienic living space for residents
- Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for both the resident and caregiver
- Assist with activities of daily living including toileting, skin care, and repositioning to prevent pressure injuries
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is essential
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies for managing challenging behaviors
- Ability to administer medications accurately following established protocols
- Strong caregiving skills combined with a caring, respectful attitude towards residents
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks and meal preparation efficiently
- Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent is an asset; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held
