Power Civil Contractors Ltd. specializes in temporary shoring and geotechnical construction throughout the Lower Mainland. Our work includes soil anchors, shotcrete, pipe piles, underpinning, and other specialized shoring and foundation systems for a variety of construction projects.
We are seeking a motivated and organized Construction Project Coordinator to join our team to provide maternity leave coverage.
The successful candidate will start in September or October 2026, allowing for a structured transition and training period alongside our current Project Coordinator before the maternity leave begins.
While this position is initially intended to provide maternity leave coverage, there is potential for a permanent full-time position for the right candidate, based on performance and business needs.
Position Summary
As a Project Coordinator, you will support the planning and execution of multiple active shoring and geotechnical construction projects from award through completion and closeout.
This is a hands-on role combining office-based project coordination with regular site visits throughout the Lower Mainland. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Superintendents, Foremen, clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning, startup, execution, and closeout.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, contracts, and other project documents.
- Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
- Assist with the preparation and tracking of change orders and extra work.
- Track project costs, labour hours, equipment, materials, quantities, and expenditures.
- Assist with project forecasting, progress billing, and cost reporting.
- Maintain and update project schedules and monitor project progress against planned activities.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with Superintendents and Foremen.
- Maintain organized and accurate project documentation and records.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and support field operations.
- Work closely with field teams to identify and resolve project issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with quality control documentation, testing requirements, and inspection records.
- Attend project coordination and progress meetings as required.
- Assist with the preparation of project closeout documentation and turnover packages.
- Support project safety and compliance documentation as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience in civil, shoring, geotechnical, foundation, earthworks, or related construction.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is an asset.
- Experience with construction management or accounting platforms such as Procore, B2W, or Acumatica is an asset.
- Comfortable working both in an office environment and on active construction sites.
- Valid BC driver's licence.
- Must reside in the Lower Mainland and be able to travel to project sites as required.

This position is particularly well suited to someone who wants to continue developing toward greater project management responsibility.

Working Conditions
This position involves a combination of office-based project coordination and regular visits to active construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland. Candidates must be comfortable working in active construction environments, wearing required PPE, and adapting to changing project and site conditions.
