Position Overview:
As a Program Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals living in Hope Restored Canada's 24-hour staffed home. You will provide trauma-informed, compassionate support to participants, ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to resources as they navigate their journey toward holistic restoration. Hours are as assigned. We are currently looking for individuals able to work 11:59pm-8am overnight shifts and picking up shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with program participants.
- Provide day-to-day support, including assistance with activities of daily living, skill-building, and emotional support where applicable.
- Collaborate with Case Workers to develop and implement individualized recovery plans where applicable.
- Monitor and maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment within the home.
- Accompany participants to appointments (e.g., medical, legal, court) as needed.
- Respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, ensuring participants’ safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participant interactions and progress.
- Uphold Hope Restored Canada’s commitment to trauma-informed practices and cultural humility.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, sexual exploitation, or human trafficking is an asset.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and client-centered approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Familiarity with community resources and supports in Saskatchewan.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Cultural competence and an understanding of the diverse needs of marginalized populations, including Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, and newcomer communities.
- A valid class 5 driver's license with current drivers abstract (required).
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance (required).
- Expected to be away during all shifts to meet the potential needs of participants in the home.
