What You’ll Be Doing
This is a high profile cross cutting business and corporate functions controllership role reporting to the Senior Director, Controller in the Banking, Wealth, Corporate & Other Controllership group. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial accounting used for statutory, regulatory and management reporting working closely with business partners, colleagues and other groups. There will be month-end and quarter-end responsibilities, including review of financial results, insightful variance explanation and responses to ad hoc queries. To align with our strategic goal, you will drive continuous improvements (both strategic and tactical) across the team.
How You’ll Succeed
Control Focused – You provide accurate and timely input to the finance process control issues as they arise. You have gained an end-to-end understanding of the processes and businesses that you support and are aware of the key risks and controls involved. Provide oversight and ensure all balance sheet accounts that you oversee are appropriate.
Transformation – You will participate in and drive simplification and assist in the development of new tools and processes to enhance the overall efficiency of the group such to create capacity for value added work. You will determine business needs and the analytical or financial support required to aid in effective business decision making and provide input on issues and insights on new initiatives.
Project management – You have highly developed organization and prioritization skills in order balance and prioritize a number of projects, processes and initiatives. You are a problem solver, a self-starter, take hands-on approach and are able to deal with moderately complex finance issues.

You can demonstrate experience in accounting and controllership in order to perform oversight over accounting functions. This includes enhancement of financial controls across lines of business and functional groups (operations, technology). You have strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements, along with current accreditation and good standing in a CPA or equivalent with minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience. Professional services firm experience is preferred but not required.
