Title: Autobody Paint Technician
Reports To: Shop Manager
Location: Fix Auto Woodstock
The Paint Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are sprayed to a consistently high quality in a fast-paced body shop atmosphere. Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment. The Paint Technician will collaborate effectively with the body department to achieve efficient vehicle flow while ensuring quality standards are met to reduce and eliminate re-work.

Job Duties
· Restore vehicle paint to original condition as per manufacturer’s specifications.
· Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula.
· Tend to or operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of top coat or other protective or decorative coatings.
· Tend to or operate automated spray paint, dip or flow coating equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment.
· Operate compliant hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective or decorative coatings.
· Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes.
· Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
· Mark, record and report defects.
· Clean and perform preparation of work-site.
· Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
· Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
· Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
· Other related tasks as required.
Requirements
· Refinish Technician License with good general knowledge of entire collision repair process
· At least 5-7 years collision shop experience preferred
· Certified with installed paint vender and strong working knowledge of vender SOPs
· Able to effectively and efficiently manage multi vehicle repair
· Clear understanding of repair orders and cost drivers; ability to achieve production targets and maximize gross profit
· Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
· Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
· Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
· Effective verbal and listening communications skills
· Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Working Conditions
· Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
· Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs for 50 feet is required.
· Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
· Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
· Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
· Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
· Noise level is generally loud.
· Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
· Excellent stamina is required.

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
