Prep Cook (Seasonal) – High Volume Kitchen

Barangas on the Beach is hiring Seasonal Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team for the 2026 season. As one of Hamilton’s busiest waterfront restaurants, we complete a very high volume of food preparation every day to support our kitchen during service. Our restaurant continues to grow and expand each year, and we are looking for dependable team members who are organized, efficient, and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
This is a seasonal position starting mid-April and running through October, with the opportunity to stay on with the team until December for strong performers.
Pay & Perks
- $18 – $22 per hour (depending on experience)
- Free staff meal every shift
- 30-minute break + two 15-minute breaks per shift

Responsibilities
- Prepare large volumes of ingredients daily to support kitchen service
- Wash, cut, portion, and organize produce, meats, and other ingredients
- Maintain consistent prep standards and portion control
- Label, date, and properly store all prepared items
- Maintain a clean and organized prep station
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Food Safety Certificate (required)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
Uniform Requirements
- Black pants
- Non-slip kitchen shoes
