Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Red Seal Journeyman/woman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial and construction electrical systems, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality workmanship. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across various projects, including renovation and new construction sites. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints, working with low voltage systems, and operating power tools and hand tools efficiently. A commitment to safety standards and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and renovation settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of electrical components
- Work with low voltage wiring and systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete electrical tasks
- Assist in the design and implementation of electrical layouts for new construction or renovation projects
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and project timelines
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they develop into larger problems
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and record-keeping purposes
Skills
- Valid Red Seal Journeyman/woman Electrician certification
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or in construction electrical work
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and low voltage wiring systems
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
- Experience with renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications
- Familiarity with schematics related to electrical systems in industrial environments
- Handyman skills are a plus for troubleshooting miscellaneous issues efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail
