Job Details
Part-time contract to start, with real potential to grow into a bigger, longer-term position as content needs expand.
Hourly, $18.15–20/hour, up to approximately 10 hours/week to start (up to $750/month).
Who we are
Ashley Deland is a business advisor, multi-business founder, and start-up investor who partners with high-growth women-led brands through strategy, scale, and strategic investment. She's the CEO and founder of Maison De Land, host of the podcast She Wears the Pants, and has helped women-led companies collectively generate over $25 million in revenue across 17+ countries. This role supports the growing content engine behind her brand... working closely with her visibility strategist, who sets the direction and drafts core ideas, and alongside another social media manager who supports posting and editing.
What This Role Actually Involves
This is a content creation role first, and a social media role second. You'll be taking ideas and drafts and turning them into finished, publish-ready content across multiple formats... not just designing graphics.
- Helping write and shape Substack articles
- Adapting long-form content into SEO-friendly blog posts
- Writing social captions and post copy
- Drafting email content
- Designing visuals in Canva and editing short-form video in CapCut
In short: turning one core idea into many pieces of finished content across formats — writing and visuals both.
Who we are looking for…
- A strong writer as much as a visual creative: someone comfortable shaping words, not just images
- A creative eye: someone who can take an idea and genuinely elevate it, not just execute it as given
- Someone who wants to learn and keep growing to add to their skillset
- A detail-oriented individual who doesn't miss the small things
- An excellent communicator who doesn't miss details or deadlines
- A positive problem solver who wants to contribute to the team and grow within the role
- Someone who's genuinely plugged into what's trending on social media and has a strong visual instinct for what actually stops the scroll
Job Tasks
- Write and help shape content across formats: Substack articles, SEO blog adaptations, social captions, and email copy
- Bring content plans (drafted by the visibility strategist) to life visually: designing in Canva and editing in CapCut
- Contribute creative ideas and improvements, not just execute exactly as briefed
- Collaborate closely with the strategist and the other social media manager on the team
- Keep an eye on current trends across Instagram, TikTok, and beyond, and bring fresh ideas back to the team
- Help maintain a consistent, elevated quality across all written and visual content
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Comfortable writing clearly and engagingly: captions, blog-style copy, or similar
- Comfortable and capable working in Canva
- Comfortable and capable working in CapCut
This is an ideal role for a marketing, communications, or social media management student: any of the following are a genuine asset, though not required:
- Coursework or hands-on experience in content strategy, copywriting, or digital marketing
- Familiarity with SEO basics
- Familiarity with content calendars or scheduling tools (like ClickUp)
- An understanding of basic social media analytics/insights
- Experience editing short-form video (Reels, TikTok-style content)
- A genuine interest in the creator economy, personal branding, or the business/entrepreneurship space
- We will need to see writing and/or design samples, or a portfolio
- Ability to work and communicate well within a small team
- Strong time management skills and a self-starter mindset
- Remote work is welcome: based in or around Burlington, Ontario is a plus, but not required
Room to Grow
This role is intentionally structured to start small and grow. As content needs expand, so will the hours and scope... this could become a much bigger, longer-term position for the right person. We're looking for someone who wants to grow alongside the role, not just fill a short-term gap.
How We Grow Our Team
We've always valued passion and a genuine creative eye over formal experience. This role is designed to be a great fit for someone still building their portfolio... real, hands-on experience working directly with an established founder's brand. We're supportive of people in different life and school stages, and want this to be a place where you can actually build your skills, not just fill a task list.
Pay: $18.15-$20.00 per hour

- Flexible schedule
