The Product Development Support Team has a key role in the product development process by gathering, validating and centralizing information. Our goal is to ensure the integrity of the product and the data throughout the product lifecycle from the preliminary state to prototype and production.
This team supports the develop and production of hundreds of toys under our brands Mega Bloks and Mega Construx.
This position is responsible for the creation of the bill of materials (BOM) in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. As the owner of the BOMs, he or she works in close co-operation with Design, Product Engineering and Audit/Validation Specialist to accurately set-up and maintain BOMs. He will also work with Project Managers and Cost Engineers to establish the manufacturing strategy and as well prepare the quote pack. The incumbant also initiate, establish and communicate any BOM structure changes.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Create parts in the PLM system;
Build and maintain BOM in PLM system;
Provide preliminary BOM analysis of mold availability and cost;
Identify consignment vendors;
Initiate change orders and process change requests for BOM updates;
Send ECN to set up item, in the ERP system;
Prepare quote package;
Validate product documentations and link in PLM;
Establish and set up BOM Structure.
What We're Looking For:
Bilingual - French and English;
Degreed in Engineering technology, Office Management, IT, or similar;
Minimum 2 years’ experience in product design and development in a high-volume consumer product business or related field;
Minimum 2 years’ experience with data analysis and entry into mainframe systems;
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
Self-motivated. Willing to take ownership of the work and quality of work produced;
Dependable. Able to complete work by preset deadlines;
Good analytical skills to solve everyday problems independently;
Very organized with strong attention to detail and follow through;
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment;
Works well in a cross-functional team environment;
Demonstrated positive attitude sees challenges as opportunities and translates them into actionable items.
