THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Ward Tire, You will be primarily performing fleet maintenance and doing repairs on customer trucks and trailers.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
You are a motivated, energetic individual who works well in a team environment. You are competent in repairing trucks and trailers and you have minimum 4 years of experience working in a service facility.
JOB DUTIES
- Perform CVIP, inspections, diagnose problems and repair as needed
- Perform suspension repairs, spring pins, torque rod bushings, king pins, tie rods, drag links etc.
- Perform light welding repairs as required
- Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts
- Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs)
- Performs maintenance related work as required
- Maintains a clean, safe work area
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
REQUIREMENTS
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Current and valid CVIP License required
- B620 experience would be considered an asset
- Welding experience would be considered an asset
- Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Work hours may require overtime, weekends and/or holidays
- Must be able to supply your own set of hand tools to perform basic repairs
- Hold a Valid Class 5 license (higher class will be considered an asset)
- Welding ability and experience (will be considered an asset)
- Broad range of knowledge on commercial vehicles would be considered an asset
