The Corporate Counsel role will be part of CXAi’s team and acts as a business partner, providing legal support across various functions, ensuring the company's operations comply with applicable laws and regulations. You will assist in the development and implementation of business- focused legal strategies that drive increased volume for the Company while simultaneously protecting against significant risk across Canada. Corporate Counsel will work closely with Executive and Senior management and various departments to mitigate legal risks and support the company's strategic objectives.
Corporate Counsel Responsibilities:
- Advise the company of their legal rights and all matters related to law
- Research legal precedents and gather evidence
- Plead companies’ cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards
- Draw up and revise legal documents as required
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
- Help advise all departments and business teams on issues (privacy and others) relating to our BPO teams.
- Provide timely guidance and risk analysis on all types of legal issues including domestic and international commercial contracts, corporate governance, corporate finance, intellectual property/licensing transactions, new business initiatives and corporate structuring.
- Review complex commercial contracts and support contract negotiations and with key external and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Provide guidance on issues arising from actual or anticipated litigation
Corporate Counsel Requirements:
- Completion of a college program and a bachelor's degree from a recognized law school
- 4-8 years of relevant corporate legal experience. Prior in-house counsel experience in a similar role
- Experience in BPO industry
- Experience in Credit Industry an asset
- Strong legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and client services skills
- Licensing by the Canadian provincial or territorial law society
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication skills and diplomacy will also be required.

- Ability to work independently with great attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, superior problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are also required.
Additional Information:
- This position can work remotely anywhere in Canada. Prefer licensed by Ontario Law Society.
- This position will require travel when necessary
