Our client is a full-service construction company in Vancouver looking to hire a temporary Site Superintendent for a 20-month contract, for a 6-storey wood frame.
The successful candidate will work under limited supervision, and complete quality construction projects maintaining high safety standards. The candidate must exercise independent judgment and initiative, tact and courtesy in contacts with vendors, contractors, consultants and clients.
Length: 20-months
Wage: $50 - $60 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Set up site office and establish positive relationships with affected business' and/or people
- Manager and direct all site personnel
- Read and interpret plans and specifications, provide clarification to site employees and trade contractors
- Manage and resolve all site related issues
- Direct work of all Trade contractors, establish schedule, identify schedule impact, workflow, and priorities through the use of effective scheduling
- Implement and manager 4-week look ahead schedules in conjunction with major milestones identified on master construction schedule
- Develop scopes of work and details for Purchase Orders, Change Orders, or Back-charges to trades
- Monitor budget spending and advise on cost overruns and cost savings
- Source site supplies and rental tools
- Record daily site reports, timesheets, and job progress photos to ensure projects are met or exceed required contract specifications
- Coordinate inspections and occupancy permits
- Assists with the development of a competent and efficient construction site team by recommending the employment of qualified applicants and identifying when current site staff need additional training
- Participate in weekly and/or monthly consultant/client/trade meetings
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Dedicated to quality and service with 5+ years of successful experience in a technical role, with proven ability to manage and lead projects
- Demonstrated work experience with custom home projects ranging from $10M up to $25M
- Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline
- Work well under pressure, juggling multiple responsibilities with numerous interruptions
- Strong local contacts for qualified sub-contractors; developed working relationships with numerous trades, suppliers and industry professionals
- Experience with Procore is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication, client management, and team management
- Current with all construction and building codes, standards, and regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of current construction practice and methodologies
