Beswick Tree Service is hiring a Climbing Arborist/Certified Arborist to join our tree care crews in Hamilton, Ontario. We're looking for an experienced tree climber, bucket operator or ISA Certified Arborist/444A/444B Utility Arborist with professional experience in tree pruning/trimming, rigging and bucket truck operation. Crew leadership experience is considered an asset.
This is a full-time, year-round arborist position performing residential, commercial, municipal and utility/hydro tree work.
Certified Arborist Compensation:
- $34 - $38/hour base hourly wage for 40 hours per week
- Performance-based incentive program on top of your hourly wage. The more productive you and your crew are, the more money you make. This could take your effective hourly wage into the $45+/hour range. In fact, most of our foremen are in the $40-$50/hour range on an all-in basis. Some days are well in excess of that - it's up to you and your crew's performance!
- $10,000 Certification Bonus: Earn a $10,000 bonus when you successfully obtain your ISA or 444B Utility Arborist certification while working at Beswick
- $15,000 Arborist Referral Bonus: if you refer to us an ISA or 444B certified arborist with a DZ/ARZ, enjoy a $15,000 bonus

Duties:
- Perform tree pruning/trimming, tree removals, deadwood removal, climbing, rigging and bucket truck/aerial lift work
- Safely perform tree climbing and aerial operations using industry-standard climbing and rigging techniques
- Safely and responsibly operate and maintain all equipment such as chainsaws, wood chippers, skid steers, bucket and chip trucks, pickup trucks and trailers
- Train and pass your knowledge of the arboriculture trade down to your Second Climber and Ground Support Technician
- Buy into our culture of equipment maintenance. These are our everyday tools that we use to perform a skilled trade.
- Provide regular updates to our Arborist Estimators on job statuses and daily progress
Qualifications and Experience:
- 2+ years of bucket and bucket truck operating experience
- 3+ years of full-time climbing experience would be considered an asset
- ISA Certified Arborist, 444A Arborist or 444B Utility Arborist certification is strongly preferred
- Valid DZ or AZ driver's license preferred
- Strong communicator and a team player with a good attitude. Being hungry, humble and having a willingness to learn are the things we care most about at Beswick.
- A valid G license is required
- Your own means of transportation is required to our yard in Dundas, Ontario
