Valley Growers is a farm located 20 minutes North of Sudbury, ON. We specialize in growing, storing and packing potatoes. Our farm is ran on a year round basis. We are seeking a motivated individual who is looking to build a career in the agricultural industry and join our team. We are seeking an equipment operator who can operate tractors, sprayers, harvesters and other farming/heavy equipment during the spring, summer and fall months. Some of the duties would consist of cultivating, planting, spraying, mowing, harvesting potatoes and other grains. The operator would also be responsible for general maintenance of the equipment. Experience is an asset but not required. DZ/AZ license is an asset. This is a full-time seasonal job with the opportunity of full time permanent. Must be willing to work nights and weekends during peak seasons. Regular work hours are 7:30am to 4pm Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Tillage using a tractor and different implements
- Planting potatoes as well as cover crops and other small grains such as oats and barley
- Spraying using a self propelled cab sprayer
- Irrigating
- Harvesting potatoes and well as other grains
- Hauling potatoes using tractors and wagons or live bottom trucks
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
