What You’ll Be Doing
As a Compliance Officer, Capital Markets Compliance, you will be providing independent oversight of compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations by the Capital Markets, Wholesale Banking business unit within Canada. The Compliance Officer will primarily focus on the Regular rules requirement within Canada. You will assists in identifying, reducing and managing regulatory and reputation risk. You must be able to work independently with minimal direction, to interact with senior front office personnel and to understand the bigger picture issues. This is a 1 year contract role covering a Maternity Leave with a schedule of 37.5 hours each week.
How You’ll Succeed
Monitoring Business Activity – you will conduct in depth Compliance reviews, testing and investigations including gathering data, interviewing personnel, interpreting information, documenting and reporting results and recommending appropriate courses of action to management for consideration.
Be a Trust Advisor – you will collaborate with Technology and front office personnel on the development and implementation of solutions to address existing and new regulatory requirements, second line of defense monitoring, analytics and surveillance capabilities.
Review new and changing regulatory requirements – you will review requirements requested by management including assessing their potential impact on the business and recommending appropriate courses of action for consideration.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in Equities and Fixed Income trading practices gained at a bank, investment dealer, regulator or marketplace. In addition knowledge of Derivatives trading would be an asset.
