The Jr. Accounting Clerk performs accounting-related tasks utilizing knowledge of the entire accounting cycle. This position performs accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
Perform various reconciliations including: cash clearing, accounts receivable, manufacturer’s statements and floor plan.
Prepare all accounts payable reports and maintain a monthly list of unpaid accounts.
Prepare the accounts payable cheques and follow up on all outstanding amounts.
Prepare and post bank deposits and complete the cash control worksheet daily.
Maintain a petty cash system.
Monitor and reconcile cash and credit card clearing accounts.
Post invoices through Accounting System.
Post sales reports on regular basis.
Distribute all invoices received to respective departments for authorization.
Prepare account analysis and participate in the monthly closing of accounts.
Maintain regular supplier files and assign new vendor accounts.
Banking and mailing
Posting licensing journal entries and manufacturer invoices
Ordering office supplies online
Perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions.
Minimum of two years of related industry experience.
Background in the automotive or related industry is an asset.
College Diploma or University Degree.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines.
Proficient with CDK and/or Reynolds systems; ability to operate PC-based software, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
