The Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatchewan (EFSK) supports women and gender-diverse people who are criminalized or at risk of criminalization. Through advocacy, cultural teachings, housing, and wraparound services, we work to remove systemic barriers and support healing, reintegration, and community connection.
The Women's Legal Clinic (WLC) is Saskatchewan's first trauma-informed legal clinic dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse survivors of gender-based violence. Our clinic provides accessible, survivor-centred legal support while working to improve access to justice across the province.
Job Overview
We are hiring a full-time WLC Community Liaison to join our Regina team. This role provides essential legal clinic coordination, client support, and administrative assistance to the Managing Lawyer while helping survivors navigate the legal system in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative legal clinic model from the ground up. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic while helping clients prepare for appointments, access community resources, and navigate legal processes with confidence.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, compassionate, and comfortable balancing legal administrative work with direct client support and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Clinic & Administrative Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Managing Lawyer
- Manage calendars, appointments, client communications, and intake logistics
- Prepare files, correspondence, document packages, and materials for meetings and court
- Maintain confidential client records, file management systems, reporting, and statistics
Client Support
- Support clients through intake, document gathering, appointment preparation, and legal processes under the direction of the Managing Lawyer
- Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and survivor-centred support
- Assist with safety planning and connect clients with housing, counselling, income, victim services, and other community resources
- Accompany clients to court or legal appointments when appropriate
Community Outreach & Clinic Development
- Support public legal education, outreach initiatives, and community engagement
- Assist with social media and website updates to improve access to clinic information
- Help develop client resources and plain-language legal information
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Women's Legal Clinic
Qualifications
Required:
- Diploma or degree in Legal Administration, Office Administration, Social Work, Justice Studies, Human Services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience providing legal administrative support, legal assistant services, or working in a legal clinic environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Understanding of trauma-informed, violence-informed, and culturally responsive practice
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn legal case management systems
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
Preferred:
- Experience supporting survivors of gender-based violence
- Experience with CLIO, SharePoint, Canva, or social media platforms
- Knowledge of Indigenous communities, newcomer communities, and access to justice issues
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset
