Fitness Coach & Athlete Development Specialist
Not someone who "kind of likes working out." Not someone looking for a paycheck between shifts somewhere else. We want someone who lights up talking about training, who members remember by name, and who wants to build something real with us.
CrossFit Newmarket & Aurora Central is a fitness and health gym in York Region with a fully integrated health clinic as part of our business, backed by over 10 practitioners on staff to support our members. Across our two locations, we serve over 600 members. We're growing, and we're building our coaching bench with people who want to grow with us.
Here's the Deal
This is a part-time position, 5 to 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional coaching hours as we grow. This role splits time between our Newmarket and Aurora Central locations.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Coaching group fitness classes that people look forward to all day
- Building relationships with members, not just running a clock
- Coaching movement, not just counting reps: scaling, cueing, correcting, connecting
- Being part of a coaching culture that takes pride in doing it right
What Gets You in the Door (one of these)
- CrossFit Level 1 Certificate (or higher), or
- A Kinesiology degree or Fitness and Health Promotion diploma (or equivalent, a Strength and Conditioning degree is also an asset), or
- Solid group fitness coaching experience with a recognized certification
Competed at a high level in CrossFit or another sport? That's a serious bonus. We notice.
We Don't Throw You on the Floor and Hope for the Best
Every new coach goes through our internship program before ever running a class solo. We build you up the right way, so you show up with the biggest toolbox in the room and members get the best version of you from day one.
Flexibility Is a Superpower Here
Mornings, evenings, weekends: the more availability you bring, the more you'll stand out. We're a big organization with a lot of moving parts, which means a lot of opportunity for the right person.
Pay
$25 to $35 per hour for classes, based on your experience and qualifications.
To Apply, Send Us
- Your resume
- A video, 1 to 2 minutes, telling us who you are and why you'd crush this role
We watch every video. Make it count.
This Role Is NOT for You If
- You say you're "super flexible" and then can't work mornings, evenings, or a single weekend
- You're mainly here for a free gym membership
- You don't train yourself. We can't teach what we don't live
- You talk fitness but don't walk it. Members can tell, and so can we
- You want to coast in year one and hope nobody notices
This Role IS for You If
- You get genuinely fired up watching someone hit a PR
- You want to be coached into a great coach, not just thrown in the deep end
- You're building a career in fitness, not killing time between other jobs
- You want to be part of something bigger than one class at a time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
