Optometric Assistant
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, providing excellent customer service
- Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and verifying insurance information
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for optometrists
- Assist optometrists during eye exams and procedures
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, including frame selection and fitting
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail sales or customer service role is preferred
- Knowledge of basic optometric procedures and equipment is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health records systems
