Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and Collect: Operate trucks with automatic transmission to collect solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables along assigned routes (routes may vary daily).
- Inspections & Reporting: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete truck reports, route sheets, and necessary documentation.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues to the mechanic or supervisor immediately.
- Safe Operation: Follow safety protocols to prevent mechanical failures and ensure efficient operations.
- Compliance: Adhere to national, provincial, and local vehicle operation regulations.
- Cleanliness: Maintain clean vehicles inside and out.
- Teamwork: Attend daily safety meetings and collaborate with team members.
- Work Balance: Balance driving and physical labour (50/50 split).
Requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years of DZ/AZ driving experience required. We are looking for experienced drivers (no newly licensed drivers).
- License: Valid DZ and/or AZ License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift/move up to 80 lbs regularly.
- Adaptability: Willing to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
- Equipment Familiarity: Knowledge of collection equipment is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.04 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
