Located out of our Calgary office, the individual will report to the Manager, Risk Analytics and become a contributing member of the commodity risk management team. The Senior Analyst, Commodity Risk Management will support the daily management of Inter Pipeline’s commodity risk management activities. This position will also assist with the development and ongoing operation of a dedicated Middle Office function and ETRM system to support Inter Pipeline’s marketing and hedging activities.
Qualifications:
A financial professional with a degree in finance, economics, or mathematics
Designation would be preferred: CFA/FRM/ERP
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years related experience
Highly analytical, detail oriented, strong experience with report development for marketing activities
Experienced presenting to and responding to inquiries
Skills :
Excellent communication and teaching skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Adaptable, innovative, self-motivated and a well-organized team player
Experience with ETRM systems
Advanced user of Excel, & PowerPoint. PowerBI and VBA skills for excel preferred
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Develop deep understanding of Inter Pipeline’s commodity exposures, future strategies and prevailing market fundamentals
Assist with formation of a dedicated Middle Office function to support marketing and hedging activities
Design, control and deliver insightful reporting and analytics that assist decisions via Business Intelligence tools
Daily reporting responsibilities for exposures and MtM
Ongoing responsibilities to forecast commodity pricing across commodity exposures and forward delivery periods
Support ETRM system implementation, testing, and ongoing operations
Become a Subject Matter Expert on the ETRM platform
Develop materials to assist monthly Risk Management Committee activities relating to commodity price forecasting and risk reporting
Familiarity with industry standard risk tools and methodologies, such as Value at Risk, valuation models, stress testing, back testing
Ongoing daily administration which may include risk reporting, deal confirmations, training, configuration, data upload, control oversight and user permissions
Middle Office compliance with Inter Pipeline’s applicable Policies and Procedures

Full Time, Monday – Friday
