Position: Skilled Labourer
Salary range: $45 per hours plus OT after 8 hrs a day
We are seeking an experienced Skilled Labourer to support our client, a mining company operating at a busy site in Northern BC. This is a temporary summer contract position working a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation.
The successful candidate will work within the Maintenance Department, supporting a variety of camp maintenance and general repair projects. We are looking for someone with solid hands-on skills, particularly in plumbing and carpentry, who is versatile, takes initiative, and likes to keep busy. Candidates do not necessarily need to be ticketed; we are looking for someone with practical experience and a strong ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of maintenance tasks. Pay is $45/hour, with overtime paid after 8 hours per day. Flights and camp accommodations are provided.
Candidates must be able to provide references and successfully complete a medical assessment and criminal background check.

Main Accountabilities:
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout camp facilities
- Assist with plumbing installations and repairs , including installing fixtures, toilets, sinks, and other plumbing components
- Assist with plumbing work where some experience running and connecting pipes would be an asset
- Complete basic carpentry and framing work , including repairs, installations, and finishing
- Assist with framing and construction projects by measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing materials
- Fetch and organize tools and materials for maintenance and construction work
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the names and uses of common hand tools, power tools, plumbing materials, and construction materials
- Assist skilled trades and maintenance personnel with various projects
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Troubleshoot and address minor maintenance issues
- Complete general repairs, installations, and facility upkeep as required
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow all site safety procedures and requirements
Take initiative and assist with other maintenance, construction, and labour duties as needed

Main Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, industrial, construction, mining, or skilled labour environment
- Solid hands-on maintenance, repair, and construction skills
- Practical experience with basic plumbing , including installing fixtures and toilets
- Some experience running or installing plumbing pipes is an asset
- Experience with carpentry and framing
- Good understanding of common construction and maintenance tools and materials
- Able to identify and correctly use major hand tools, power tools, plumbing supplies, lumber, fasteners, and other construction materials
- Comfortable assisting tradespeople and working as part of a maintenance team
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to assist with a variety of tasks
- Strong safety awareness and a demonstrated safety record
- Trade certification is an asset but not required
