Northwood is currently accepting applications for a Human Resource Advisor.(Recruitment & Selection)
Coordinates and participates in the hiring process for new employees in conjunction with hiring managers
Facilitates the criminal record and vulnerable sector search process
Represents organization at various province wide functions and recruitment initiatives such as job fairs, information sessions, etc.
Networks, develops and maintains external partnerships
Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Meets with new employees and completes all new hire sign on requirements
Performs and provides reference checks as required
Provides education, support and guidance in recruiting procedures and processes
Develops and maintains communication links with multiple internal and external clients
Ensures that the needs of internal and external clients are anticipated and satisfied
Performs other duties as required
Undergraduate degree or diploma with a major in Human Resources or equivalent experience working in a HR Department
2-3 years of relevant work experience in a health care environment
Experience in recruitment and selection required
Understanding of immigration issues and programs would be an asset
Experience working with employment legislation and collective agreements preferred
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problem solving skills
Process and detail oriented including strong organizational and prioritization skills
Computer literate (using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
Membership in HRANS and CRHP designation an asset
Flexibility to travel to Northwood locations throughout Nova Scotia
Experience working with applicant tracking systems, preferably Itacit or Avanti
Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance
Hours: 80 hours bi-weekly
