Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Positions Available!
We are currently recruiting competent, compassionate Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our clinical team!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of recent hospice palliative care experience preferred
- A passion for providing high-quality, client-centred, and culturally sensitive care
- Demonstrated expertise in pain and symptom management
- Experience in a hospice residence or a palliative unit/community assignment preferred
- Strong clinical practices with ability to champion evidence-based best practices
- Excellent assessment skills particularly in pain and symptom management and end-of-life care
- Ability to recognize, assess and treat end-of-life care emergencies and psycho-social distress
- Demonstrated commitment to Person and family-Centred Care approach and principles
- Ability to effectively manage complex clinical situations and responsive behaviours preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to support un-regulated members of an interdisciplinary team (e.g., PSWs and volunteers).
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid RPN registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Professional liability/practice insurance
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Certification in hospice palliative care (CHPCN(C)/CAPCE/LEAP) preferred
- Current BCLS certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check clearance (within 3 months, or obtained prior to start)
ABILITIES:
- Computer literate and able to work with Microsoft Suite - Knowledge of InfoAnywhere documentation system an asset
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (including sitting/standing for long periods of time, lifting/turning/repositioning and transferring residents)
