Job Overview
The Millwork Designer is responsible for creating bespoke millwork designs that reflect the unique tastes and lifestyles of our clients. This role manages the entire project lifecycle from initial client consultation to installation and post-installation support, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Millwork Designer include, but are not limited to, the following:
Client Consultation
- Attends introductory project site meetings alongside the Interior Designer and Project Coordinator to meet clients and understand their vision and scope of work;
- Collaborates with clients and the internal team to determine project requirements, including functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget constraints; and
- Prepares design concepts, presents client proposals clearly and compellingly aligning with client objectives while adhering to building codes and regulations.
Design Development
- Creates detailed custom, high quality millwork drawings and designs, including kitchens, vanities and built-ins that optimize space utilization;
- Develops detailed drawings and 3D renderings to help clients visualize the final product; and
- Selects materials, finishes, and fixtures in line with client preferences and budget.
Project Execution
- Measures project space dimensions, takes detailed pictures, and make notes to assist in the production of quotes/proposals;
- Coordinates with the internal team, trades, contractors and other professionals to ensure seamless execution of design plans;
- Order all custom millwork, cabinetry, hardware, countertops and accessories;
- Conducts site visits to assess existing conditions, take measurements, oversees the installation process to ensure adherence to design specifications and address any issues that arises; and
- Manages services and warranty concerns, ensuring prompt resolution and client satisfaction.
Documentation and Compliance
- Ensures all design documentation is accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date to facilitate the construction and implementation phases of projects; and
- Adheres to building codes, industry standards, and company policies throughout the design and implementation process.
Industry Engagement
- Stays current with industry trends, new materials, and design techniques to continuously enhance design capabilities; and
- Participates in workshops, seminars, and trade shows to deliver innovative solutions for clients.

Minimum Requirements
- Degree of Diploma in Interior Design, Architectural Technology or a related field;
- Minimum Five (8) years’ experience in residential millwork/interior kitchen designs;
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle required;
- Advanced knowledge and experience using MS O365, BuilderTrend, AutoCAD, 2020, Sketch Up and Enscape required;
- Excellent knowledge of design trends, with the ability to draft, sketch and render designs;
- Strong understanding of construction practices and ability to identify and address job site deficiencies;
- Familiarity with high-end product vendors and suppliers;
- Ability to manage a project from start to finish;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in a team environment;
- Familiarity establishing and maintain strong working relationships with various vendors and suppliers; and
- Professional demeanor with a focus on client satisfaction and problem-solving.

This position interfaces with internal and external contacts:
- Internal: Interior Designers, Project Coordinators, Production Teams.
- External: Clients, Subtrades, Vendors.
Pay: $65,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
