Senior Data Architect Government of Alberta (JIMS 3.0)
Location: Remote within Canada (occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton, AB about 15% travel)
Responsibilities
- Review existing court data marts and data models.
- Analyze, profile, and map data from multiple sources.
- Design data warehouse structures including Facts and Dimensions.
- Develop and test ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Create and validate Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Perform data quality testing and validation.
- Update data models and documentation.
- Support data governance and architecture standards.
- Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions.
- Provide recommendations, lessons learned, and project support throughout the engagement.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Data Architecture and Data Warehousing.
- Experience designing Facts and Dimensions (Star Schema/Data Modeling).
- Hands-on experience with ETL development.
- Strong data profiling, mapping, and data analysis skills.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboards.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and enterprise architecture practices.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Work Arrangement
- Primarily remote within Canada.
- Occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton, Alberta.
- Candidate must provide their own computer and equipment.
- Work must be performed from Canada.
