Bigstone Cree Nation Child and Family Services is seeking a self-motivated & professional individual to fill the full-time position of Assistant Director/Case Manager. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and monitors day to day Intervention service to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Builds and maintains a vision-oriented organization.
- Promotes Anti-Oppressive, positive relationships within the team and the agency.
- Provides overall leadership in the planning of all agency services in partnership with the Intervention team, Executive Director and Board of Governors.
- Promotes a positive relationship between the community and the agency, families and children, and the Intake and Assessment team.
- Provide direct supervision to Child Intervention Practitioners.
- Demonstrates leadership by being a positive collaborator within the community and with other external partners.
- Contributes to the recruitment and selection of staff who demonstrate knowledge of prevention services and maintaining family togetherness.
- Serves as the support for the Executive Director.
- Works collaboratively across organizational boundaries and reporting structures to define performance objectives.
- Ensures consistency of quality approach and builds capacity within the organization.
- Builds a collective equity vision based upon consultation with and learning from Indigenous communities and marginalized groups.
- Ensure that there is accurate documentation in CICIO.
- Will participate in On-Call rotations.
- In-depth experience collaborating with child and family services and other organizations.
- Knowledge of First Nations governing bodies and experience working with First Nations communities.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with diverse and complex groups.
- Proven experience in facilitating community engagement sessions to gather input and feedback from community members, particularly regarding child and family programs and services.
- Proven experience preparing and presenting budgets, reports, policies, and proposals.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Certifications, Training
- BSW or Diploma in Social Work or an equivalent of education and experience may be considered
- Registered with Alberta College of Social Workers is an asset.
- Knowledgeable and able to work with CICIO is preferred.
- Delegated through Child and Youth Services Ministry or qualify to be re-instated
- A solid understanding of the philosophy of prevention, protection, reunification and permanency and the ability to apply that understanding to families and communities.

REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working with First Nation communities is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to follow direction, program Policy and Procedures, and legislation.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and work without direct supervision.
- Fluency in Cree is an asset.
