Do you have professional experience working with dogs and enjoy staying active? Endeavour K9 is looking for a dependable, hardworking Kennel Attendant to join our team.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on position in a busy dog training, boarding, and daycare facility. Every day is different, and no two dogs are the same.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a minimum of one year of professional animal care experience (boarding kennel, daycare, veterinary clinic, shelter, grooming salon, or dog training facility)
- Have reliable transportation
- Be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and behaviours
- Be willing to use a variety of training equipment, including slip leads, martingales, prong collars, long lines, Haltis, food rewards, and electronic collars under staff guidance
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Dog Care
- Safely handle and supervise dogs with a variety of behaviours
- Feed dogs according to individual instructions
- Administer medications as directed
- Walk, exercise, and socialize dogs while reinforcing basic obedience
- Supervise structured playgroups
- Monitor each dog's health and behaviour
- Maintain accurate health and behaviour records
Kennel & Facility Care
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect kennels, play areas, and common spaces
- Laundry, dishes, garbage removal, and general housekeeping
- Restock kennel and retail supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility
- Follow all health and safety procedures
Customer Service
- Welcome clients and check dogs in and out
- Answer phones and emails
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate client records
Training Support
- Assist trainers with dogs enrolled in training programs
- Help during group classes
- Reinforce handling and obedience exercises as directed
- Work dogs in daycare, or add on for boarding.
Physical Requirements
This position requires someone who can:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for most of their shift
- Lift and carry 50 lbs (23 kg) or more
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be physically active throughout the entire shift
- Work around pet hair, dander, barking, cleaning products, and dogs of all temperaments

- We have staff from 7:00am- 10:00pm with rotating shifts. One shift could be 7-4 or 1-10. Are you able to work all shifts?
