We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Volunteers to join our team in. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with children in a dynamic summer environment, fostering their growth and learning through fun activities. Volunteers will play a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and enriching experience for young campers. This position is ideal for individuals interested in early childhood education, teaching, tutoring, or those passionate about working with children. All volunteers will gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute positively to our community.
Responsibilities
- Assist camp staff in organizing and leading educational and recreational activities for children aged 5-12
- Provide tutoring support and help children with homework or skill-building exercises
- Support teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities aligned with early childhood education principles
- Supervise children during free play, meals, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging teamwork, kindness, and inclusivity among campers
- Help maintain a clean and organized activity area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming camp atmosphere
Qualifications
- Experience or interest in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is preferred
- Prior work or volunteer experience working with children is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with children
- Ability to engage children in educational activities while maintaining a fun environment
- Must be at least 16 years old or older; previous experience working with children is a plus
