We currently have an opening for a Junior Fabricator in Surrey, BC. This full-time position offers tremendous growth opportunities, including diverse projects, supported career development, and potential for advancement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow manufacturing orders, drawings, and instructions
- Operate various machines including metalwork, hand tools, or wood machines using mechanical and hydraulic presses, CNC equipment, saws, power saws, grinders and other hand tools to cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld, grind, bolt, screw or rivet metal or wood parts together
- Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications
- Work within tight tolerances and inspect finished products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality targets
- Document work completed using company procedures such as PPOH tracking for each piece
- Clean equipment as required and keep workspace tidy
- Observe and adhere to all safety policies and identify and report unsafe work practices or conditions
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Your Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year experience working in a metal shop environment
- Experience operating a forklift is considered an asset
- Experience with metal fabrication or a strong mechanical background is considered an asset
- Welding experience is an asset
Practical/Technical Skills
- Attention to technical details
- Proven ability to make precise measurements and calculations
- Proven ability to produce quality products in a timely manner
- Proven ability to read specs, hardware templates, blueprints, and cut sheets
- Proven ability to lift, pull, push, handle materials up to 22kgs or 50 lbs
- Operate computer software, including Microsoft Office
- Machine operations including downloading specific programs to create product
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
