The Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program at PCA has an exciting opportunity for a Mammography Technologist I in the Screen Test team providing services at over 120 locations across Alberta. Join a dedicated, passionate team where you’ll facilitate mobile mammography clinics and perform mammograms at mobile sites, helping improve access to screening and screening rates for Albertans. While performing high quality mammographic exams, you’ll be responsible for the operation and monitoring of all mobile equipment and trailer systems at all mobile sites including fleet vehicles. Your strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with the home base staff remotely, independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills will excel in this role as you monitor trailer & mammography systems, troubleshoot issues that arise within a remote clinic environment, while also performing quality control tests on mammography units. This role reviews schedules, purchases supplies, arranges services and cleaning of mobile vehicles, as well as picking up/dropping off paperwork and supplies, assisting other staff members and as well as tech audits and attending meetings. You’ll work a compressed work week & extended work days (3 – 12-hr shifts per rotation, 2.75 unscheduled hrs) where out of town and overnight travel is required, providing the ability to have more days off during the week. Daily per diems provided for mobile clinic work; $60 pro-rated per day, plus $7.35/24hr travel period. You may occasionally work in the Calgary Screen Test administrative office. This role involves transporting supplies to the mobile clinic and requires the ability to lift/carry supplies weighing up to 25lbs upstairs.
As a Mammography Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing mammographic exams to produce high quality images using radiologic digital equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. You will receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system and prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures. You will operate computerized imaging equipment including processing and archiving of acquired data and monitoring patients and equipment performance during procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma in Medical Radiation Technology. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
2 years previous mammography experience. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license. The ability to lift supplies of at least 25lbs up a set of stairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post graduate course(s) in mammography (e.g. CAMRT Mammo I and Mammo II). Specialty Certificate in Breast Imaging. CPR/Standard First Aid. Experience driving fleet vehicles; setup and shutdown of trailers.
