A key responsibility is interpreting and providing guidance on multiple collective agreements and relevant employment and legal documents to foster a positive and harmonious work environment. Manages and guides comprehensive workplace investigations from initiation to completion, involving multiple stakeholders. This entails formulating and managing investigative processes and composing detailed investigation reports. Manages and directs the grievance process, providing guidance and support to hearing officers. HRCP plays a pivotal role in supporting diverse HR functions. Responsibilities include developing and delivering training materials, managing performance, and aiding in job classification and compensation activities. They contribute to efficient recruitment processes, offer support for attendance issues, and facilitate the return-to-work process. Additionally, they conduct research for special projects, participate in policy review, and establish positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Baccalaureate degree in a related discipline or a recognized Human Resource Management Certificate. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of Labour Relations experience specifically supporting a unionized environment is required. Travel is required and will include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The role requires a solid understanding of collective agreements and related legislation, coupled with proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet applications. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, complemented by active listening abilities, are essential. The role necessitates the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and display flexibility in managing variable and unpredictable situations, emphasizing leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Essential attributes include a firm commitment to collaborative team participation, a focus on excellence in customer service, and dedication to quality healthcare.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred. Ability to maintain composure under constant pressure and stress while maintaining a high level of involvement in confrontational situations while facing tight deadlines. Ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive issues, and emotional circumstances tactfully and with diplomacy. Ability to multi-task and work within competing deadlines and priorities.
