Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to clear snow and ice from designated areas such as roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways
- Perform routine inspections of plow equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety standards are met
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and enhance safety
- Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on machinery, including hydraulic systems, blades, and power tools used for snow removal
- Maintain detailed logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding weather conditions, equipment status, and operational needs
Experience
- Proven experience operating snow plowing equipment or similar machinery such as excavators or power tools in outdoor environments
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment and hand tools
- Background in landscaping, horticulture, or construction is highly desirable
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including tree care, lawn mowing, irrigation systems, gardening, and hardscape installation
- Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety protocols when handling machinery and chemicals like salt or de-icing agents
