Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Accountant will play a critical role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a highly visible and well-rounded position that will touch all aspects of accounting and finance, while helping leadership navigate cash flow management, operational reporting, and continuous process improvement. What you’ll be doing
- Managing full-cycle accounting functions across the organization
- Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Preparing monthly financial statements, reports, and cash flow projections to support operational decision-making.
- Monitoring daily cash flow requirements and helping leadership manage the financial demands of ongoing projects.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and project costing activities.
- Coordinating with external accounting partners on year-end activities, audits, and financial statement preparation.
- Assisting with compliance reporting, tax remittances, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies, including the use of AI and technology-driven tools where appropriate.
- Supporting leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
- Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring accuracy across all financial processes.
What we are looking for
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA not required
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting responsibilities independently.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management and financial operations within a growing business environment.
- Experience working across multiple entities or companies would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, with an interest in leveraging technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
