About the Role
Centex Petroleum is a family-owned company based in Calgary, Alberta that provides fuel and convenience services with over 170 locations across four Provinces. Our ability to provide our customers with a unique look, feel, and customer experience as well as a consistent selection of services and products has allowed us to maintain a loyal client base and opportunities for continued growth. In addition to expanding and increasing the number of our corporate locations, we have become a viable branding and fuel supply alternative for independent fuel site owner/dealers.
We are seeking a highly motivated Retail Operations Specialist to join our Retail Team and support Centex gas station and convenience-store locations across Ontario. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong leadership abilities, a solid understanding of retail operations, and a passion for improving store performance, guest experience, and brand standards.
You will work closely with station operators/dealers to ensure operational excellence, compliance, merchandising execution, and consistent delivery of the Centex guest experience across all assigned sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and influence store operators and dealers to meet brand, operating, and merchandising standards
- Develop individualized operational strategies to support store performance, guest experience, and inventory management
- Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly store visits, including full store evaluations and actionable follow-up plans
- Monitor operational execution and provide feedback, guidance, and training to store managers and operators
- Support dealers in executing company-wide programs, promotions, and marketing initiatives
- Identify operational gaps, diagnose issues, and create improvement plans in partnership with operators
- Document non-compliance issues, discussions, and follow-up actions thoroughly and accurately
- Escalate major non-compliance or safety issues to senior management when required
- Ensure all locations adhere to regulatory health, safety, and food-safety requirements
- Recruit and train gas station managers for new stores; support new site openings in collaboration with the Project Management team
- Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with dealers, providing timely coaching and ongoing operational support
- Assist operators with local store marketing, merchandising layout, and guest service improvements
- Support continuous improvement efforts to boost sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of petroleum retail or comparable multi-unit retail experience
- Strong background in customer service and quality standards
- Proven track record in sales growth within a retail or foodservice environment
- Understanding of P&L statements, budgeting, and controllable costs
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, departments, and teams
- Familiarity with dealer agreements and operational compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel 80% (daily and overnight travel across Ontario is required)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative company environment
- Must hold a valid open work permit, Permanent Residency, or Canadian Citizenship
- Flexibility to work weekends, based on operational needs
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually

Schedule
- Monday to Friday with weekend travel or store support as required
- Field-based with significant travel across Ontario
