Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Lawyer to join our legal team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career legal professionals to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment. The successful candidate will assist senior lawyer with research, drafting, negotiation, and case preparation, contributing to the effective delivery of legal services. A strong foundation in legal research and writing, along with proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis, is essential for this role.
Our practice spans all areas of law including but not limited to civil litigation, criminal law, family law, real estate, and corporate commercial matters.
This is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage and grow with us. We welcome and celebrate candidates from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse team that reflects the communities we serve.
The role
We are seeking a motivated associate lawyer to join our growing firm. You will work alongside senior lawyer on a diverse range of civil, commercial, and family disputes, managing your own files with increasing autonomy. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys hands-on litigation work and direct client contact in a supportive small-firm environment. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, gritty, and a self-starter. Someone who takes initiative, figures things out, and thrives without needing to be micromanaged.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and assist with a broad range of civil, criminal, and family law matters
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, written submissions, and other court materials
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Represent clients in chambers applications, mediations, and negotiations
- Attend discoveries, hearings, and trials
- Advise clients on litigation strategy and dispute resolution options
- Collaborate with other members of our firm.
Who thrives here
This role is a great fit if you are the kind of lawyer who hits the ground running and does not wait to be told what to do next. You pick up a file, assess what needs to happen, and make it happen. You are resourceful. When you run into a problem you do not know the answer to, you figure it out. You bring real, hands-on experience in at least one of our practice areas and can apply that knowledge from day one. You are a quick learner who adapts easily to new areas of law, new clients, and new challenges. A multicultural perspective and an understanding of diverse client backgrounds is something you see as a strength, not an afterthought, and it shows in how you communicate and connect with the people you represent.
If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
