Mersal Dental is a patient-focused dental practice committed to delivering exceptional care in a welcoming and professional environment. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and team-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician / Floater who will support clinical operations through instrument reprocessing, operatory turnover, and occasional chairside assisting duties.
Position Summary
The Dental Sterilization Technician / Floater plays a vital role in maintaining infection prevention and control standards while ensuring the clinical team has the instruments, supplies, and support needed for efficient patient care. This position will primarily focus on sterilization and clinic flow, with opportunities to assist dental providers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments according to regulatory and clinic protocols.
- Monitor and document sterilization cycles and biological testing.
- Maintain sterilization equipment
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards.
- Organize and restock sterilization and treatment areas.
- Prepare and turn over operatories between patients.
- Restock supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Assist with clinic organization and cleanliness throughout the day.
- Support front and back-office teams as needed.
Assisting Duties
- Provide chairside support during dental procedures when required.
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for procedures.
- Assist with patient seating, comfort, and procedural setup.
- Take dental radiographs (if certified and permitted by regulations).
- Support dentists and hygienists with clinical workflow.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control protocols.
- Dental Assisting experience or education is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support various areas of the practice.
