Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership repairs, heavy machinery, and electrical systems is highly valued. The Truck Mechanic will ensure all vehicles and equipment operate safely and reliably to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trucks, including diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Repair or replace faulty components on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete repairs
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently during repair procedures
- Operate or assist with the operation of heavy equipment when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service performed
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards during all maintenance activities
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems and wiring on various machinery
- Support assembly or disassembly of industrial equipment as needed
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks or industrial equipment
- Dealership experience preferred but not required
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, and schematics reading
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, forklifts, farm machinery, or similar heavy equipment is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Valid driver’s license preferred but not mandatory depending on job requirements
