As a Team Lead Screener, you will be supporting Mackenzie Health by responding directly to patient and visitor queries, while providing oversight to the Screener role. The position will involve a high degree of interaction with patients, families, visitors, staff, physicians, volunteers and the general public. The successful incumbent will be responsible for performing administrative functions in support of the screening process and visiting guidelines, facilitating screening orientation, training and staff schedules.
Contribute to safe, quality care by
Administering screening requirements as required.
Instructing and observing patients to follow proper hand hygiene protocols and providing procedure masks if required during their visit.
Providing information including assisting with directions around the hospital.
Escorting patients and/or visitors to various areas within the hospital.
Providing leadership to the Screeners.
Ability to facilitate screening orientation and training in collaboration with the Manager of Patient Experience; Human Resources; Learning and Organizational Development.
Responsible for assisting with the scheduling of tasks and provides guidance including daily check-ins and huddles.
Assisting with staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for the team.
Assisting the Manager of Patient Experience with administrative duties.
Responsible for the preparation and presentation of screening areas, including ensuring the maintenance and organization of supplies, including obtaining appropriate PPE for the Screeners.
Required to follow and reinforce IPAC practices.
Other duties as assigned; this may involve performing any basic functions required to support Mackenzie Health during the pandemic.
What must you have?
College diploma or university degree in health services or a related discipline; graduate of a health services program preferred.
Ability to work all shifts including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
