Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones, and fostering a love of learning. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom experience, and the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs. The Registered Early Childhood Educator will collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists to promote positive educational experiences and support inclusive practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities ensuring safety at all times
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members regarding children's progress and needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and daily activities
- Collaborate with specialists in special education or working with individuals with disabilities to adapt activities as needed
- Use computer skills for documentation, planning, and communication purposes
- Uphold all licensing regulations and organizational policies related to early childhood education
- Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities such as organization, time management, and professionalism
- Support ongoing professional development through training sessions and workshops
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or equivalent credential
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Strong writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equity
