Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Flagger to ensure the safety of construction crews and the public at various work sites. This role involves directing traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting in the smooth flow of construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Prior experience with heavy equipment operation, paving, or construction is a plus but not required. Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using clear hand signals or signage
- Ensure the safety of workers and the public by enforcing traffic control measures
- Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers
- Communicate effectively with construction teams and drivers to coordinate movements
- Monitor work zones continuously for safety hazards or violations
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment within the traffic control area
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to traffic management and construction site operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation, paving, or general construction is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and safety standards is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain alert for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold
- Valid certification in flagging or traffic control (preferred but not required)
- Must be reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
