As a Casual In-Home Youth Care Worker for our therapeutic programs, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to at-risk youth with complex mental health, behavioural challenges, substance use, and/or involvement in the criminal justice system. You are willing to provide availability to work 24-hour shifts (10am to 10am and includes time to sleep at night) on a casual basis, including on at least one weekend day.
Locations include: North Vancouver, Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey. Candidates must be available to work in at least two locations.
Ability to meet our Relief/Casual Team Guidelines and Expectations which includes availability requirements for on-call and 24-hour shifts
High school diploma
Experience working with at-risk youth with mental health challenges and substance use (or desire to learn)
Knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations culture and teachings (or desire to learn)
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Building positive working relationships with the youth, their families, community members, and other professionals (e.g. social workers, probation officers)
Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and youth care plans
Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication
Salary: $21.68-$22.25/hour + 4% vacation pay on each pay cheque
