Summary:
Sheehy Enterprises is an agricultural equipment dealer that provides services to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and lower New Brunswick. We are currently looking for carpenters, specifically doing commercial agricultural construction, such as standing steel structure buildings, roofing, framing, installing agricultural equipment etc. Below is a list of what we are looking for.
Responsibilities:
- Standing steel structure barns with wood framing
- Framing & installing agricultural equipment (stabling, ventilation, cattle mats, etc.)
- Installing steel roofs and siding on barns
- Installing roll up doors
- Finishing the interior of structures, including insulation, trim work, and interior siding
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a carpenter
- Experience using both hand and power tools
- Self starter; ability to adapt quickly and effectively
Other Qualifications:
- Previous experience within an agricultural setting is an asset (preferably dairy farming)
- Previous experience doing concrete work is considered an asset
- Experience operating machinery (scissor lifts, zoom-booms, tractors, etc.) is considered an asset
- Fall Arrest Certification is considered an asset
- Elevated Work Platform Certification is considered an asset
Additional Details:
No tools are required, they are all supplied. The position(s) are full-time, 40-50 hours per week. You will need to be able to provide your own transportation to our shop, however, any travelling for work is done via a work truck. Benefits kick in following a work probation period.
