Educational Assistant and Braille Transliterator
Location: Hunting Hills High School
32.5 hours weekly - 12 hours transliterator, 20.5 hours EA
Term position August 24, 2026 to June 30, 2027
Hunting Hills High School is seeking a caring, student-focused Translator/Interpreter & Educational Assistant. The successful candidate will provide approximately 2 hours of Braille support each day, with the remainder of the day working as an Educational Assistant. Depending on the candidate’s experience and student needs, the EA role may involve supporting students in a classroom or within our Foundations Program. Braille experience and EA experience are assets.
Desirable qualifications and attributes:

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent education is an asset

Braille experience and training is an asset

Comfortable with both specialized and inclusive programs

Experience or training in supporting children with diverse and complex needs or behaviours is preferred

Compassionate, patient, and committed to creating a positive learning environment

Able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team

Strong problem-solving skills

Comfortable assisting students with personal care needs, including toileting and lifting as required
